Solayo Africa today conducted a large-scale maternal health outreach at Olopemeji Community, Mowe, reaching over 250 women with essential healthcare services, education, and support aimed at improving maternal and reproductive health outcomes.
The outreach featured prenatal checks, vaccination support, lactation counseling, cervical screening, and screening for free surgical interventions, delivered in partnership with Abundant Life Hospital, Mowe, and Graceful Hearts of Compassion Mission.

Beyond clinical services, women participated in engaging and practical educative sessions focused on:
- The importance of exclusive breastfeeding
- Family planning and healthy reproductive practices
- Healthy and affordable food options for infants
- Preventive maternal health habits
The event also included fun activities, community engagement, and the distribution of maternal wellness products provided by Solayo Africa, creating a supportive and welcoming environment for participants. Women were introduced to Solayo’s maternal health support platform, designed to extend care beyond physical outreaches and into everyday life.
Speaking at the outreach, Theresa Oyewole, Chief Operating Officer of Solayo Africa, emphasized the urgency of bringing care closer to women:
“Maternal health should not depend on proximity to a hospital or financial strength. When women have timely access to information, support, and care, we prevent complications before they become emergencies. This is how lives are saved.”
Solayo Africa reiterated its commitment to grassroots engagement as a critical strategy in addressing Nigeria’s maternal health challenges.

“Each day, we are preaching the gospel of maternal health access — because access is the difference between fear and safety, between delay and survival, and ultimately, between life and death,” the organization stated.
The outreach forms part of Solayo Africa’s ongoing mission to reduce maternal mortality by bridging gaps in access, education, and community-based care across underserved populations.
